I gave a courageous roar before the morning
And like that, I was renewed,
With newly gathered attention for the day.
My muscles ached, but my brain was refreshed,
And freedom surged within me.
Pain is temporary, as is today,
And in this moment, I am eternal.
I let this feeling course through me,
Embracing it fully,
Refusing to let even a drop of it escape me.
Today, I chose to be good
Rather than leave it to the whims of tomorrow.
I must, after all,
Even as I am forever,
The day is not,
So I must give it my all.
So be it then!
Take it from me, take it all!
All my attention, all my impulse,
Dear day, it’s all yours
As much as you’re all mine.
I’ve seized you
And I won’t let go
Even as night comes and snatches you away
Because I’ll still carry a little bit of you with me,
A little ounce of light,
To add to my collection,
My undeniable proof
Of a plentiful, worthwhile, eternal life!
