In the pursuit of hope, I found a mirror. I stared deeply at it until I was in it And once I was, I became overwhelmed As my fingers grazed my cheek And graced a gentleness I sorely yearned for. I cried as a child who lost their mother would In the disarray of a grocery store, Only stopping when the kind attendant appeared Before him, held his hand, and told him “We will find her, don’t worry.” She was God, Hope and Kindness. I embraced my reflection, My vision blurry from tears But how clearly I saw it now! How important it is To be gentle to your soul, To that child lost in the grocery store. “We found her! I told you we would!” -k.r.r.
