Exit on your right

Vacancy behind heavy curtains,
There is no one on stage
But a spotlight on a microphone stand
With no microphone.

Then comes Actor A,
Ready to perform before a nonexistent crowd. 
He waves that missing microphone before him
Like a sword ready to cleave an enemy. 

What does he have to say?
“Thank you for coming!”
Silence.
“This is when the show ends!”
