Just This Once

My empty stomach asked not to be fed
But to be spilled out
So I expelled everything
Until just my pretty carcass remained;
My ribs extended out like an invite for an embrace,
For hands to be dipped in the grooves
And the still-warm meat poised to be clenched.
I want to be held like that by a beautiful woman
Who fills the openings between her fingers with my blood
And doesn’t let a drop fall
And actually brings it closer, closer to her
Until we’re all sanguine in sweet disarray
Together.
